Founded in the 15th Century. Columbus was buried there 30 years.It had a magnificent library and many Works of Arts. During the 19th Century, due to the ocuppation of the Napoleon’s troops and the ” Desamortización” (confiscation of church property ) the Monastery suffered the loss of much of its artistic heritage. Thanks to the Expo 92 the building was completely restored. Today it is one of the most unique monuments of the city.
