Since its birth in 1980, the Biennial has held 18 editions. For a month the city enjoys the performances of the very best dancers, singers and guitar players, showing their new proposals in unique locations like the Alcázar or San Luis Church.
In 2010 Flamenco was clasified as Immaterial World Heritage by the UNESCO.
